Check the Burn Status for Sacramento County before using your fireplace.  Last year there were only three "stage 2" day when all burning was prohibited.  If you have a an EPA approved wood or pellet stove/insert that does not emit visible smoke, you can use it during "stage 1" restrictions.  Click the the "Check Before You Burn" image above for all the details.

Note: This is an "FYI" news posting.   Evergreen Commons Association does not enforce burn restrictions.  Enforcement and fines are handled by the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District and/or other government agencies.

In response to issues with cars being in the parking lot (south park gate) for long periods (including commercial vehicles), the Board adopted the following parking rules.  These rules are applicable only to the common area parking lot.  Street parking is regulated by the county and parking on individual lots is covered in the CC&Rs.

Parking Restrictions for the Park Green Lot

- This is a Private Parking Lot for Members and
Guests Only - No Public Parking.

- No Parking between 11PM and 6AM (No overnight
parking).

- No parking of commercial vehicles or trailers at any
time (except while providing services in the park).

- Violators subject to Association enforcement and/or towing at owner's expense.  Only persons authorized by the Board may initiate towing enforcement.

These operating rules were posted in the August newsletter and were finalized at the October 6 Board meeting.

March 8, 2011   

On Thursday, February 17 we held our 2011 Annual Association Meeting.  The only business conducted was the election of a new Director.  Other items were discussed and reports were made by Directors, but the election was the only matter on which the Membership was taking action.  Near the end of the meeting, our Election Inspector, Jeff Batozech, announced that forty-seven ballots were cast providing us with the quorum required.  There was one candidate on the ballot, Claudette Ostrander, who received forty-seven votes, meeting the minimum requirement to be seated as a Director.

March 8, 2011  

The new Board of Directors met in executive session prior to its regular meeting on March 3 to elect officers for 2011.  The four primary officers are selected from among the Directors.  They are:

Claudette Ostrander, President

Fred Links, Vice President

Curtis Wheeler, Treasurer

Samira Al-Qazzaz, Secretary

The committee chairs and other positions are generally remaining unchanged.

Alexis Davidson, Architectural Committee Chairperson*

Marvin Potts, Park and Pool

John Altieri, Social

Fred Links, Neighborhood Watch

Curtis Wheeler, Communications

The Architectural and Nominating Committees are the only two required by our governing documents to be chaired by Directors.  A Nomination Committee Chairperson will be elected later in the year.
